nSolutions™ was spun out of Bell Laboratories Research as an independent business in 2001. The genesis of NOVA™ line of appliances is based in Infrastructure Resource Management (IRM™), a lifecycle management technology developed by the nSolutions team in Bell Labs for telecom-scale networks.

IRM technology provided the core for nSolutions Solution Builder and Service Express products. These products were used for automating, planning, designing, and operating complex IP networks. Solution Builder and Service Express products were shipped to 2,000 of Lucent Technology’s enterprise customers in 60 countries worldwide.

The breakthrough technology researched and developed within Bell Labs to support telecom-scale networks is now used in nSolutions NOVA appliances to enable real-time visibility and closed-loop operational control of network configuration changes. The technology within NOVA appliances is protected by several pending patents.
